I recently switched to soy milk for various ethical/health concerns (artificial hormones in milk--and organic is $$$$ here compared to soy), after being a long-time nonfat milk drinker---and I drank a LOT of milk up until 4 months ago.....
But this morning I decided to buy some GoLean cereal + milk from the market by my work because all their soy milk was flavored (yuck!), so just got regular nonfat milk.
BAD IDEA! Gassy, bloating, and worse....
I'm still eating cheese regularly, but I can't help but wonder what would happen if I cut it out of my diet? I was so USED to feeling bloated/gassy and having gross BM issues that I just thought it was "the way I was"
.....then I started soy and it got better, then I drank milk and I've felt gross all day! I can only assume this means that I am to some degree lactose intolerant.
Any suggestions on cheese subsititutes? I would like to try going dairy-free...but dang, I am a CHEESE lover. I'm KNOWN for my homemade, baked macaroni & cheese. |

My Mood: Points: 6,733.28 Bank: 181.87 Total Points: 6,915.15 | Hi all! I have some sort of boewl problem. It started when I was 17 tough during intercourse i had the worse pain and broke out in a really bad sweat. Then I had to lay in the floor caus eit was so bad. About 1-2 years later i passed out on the toilet with pain and then I had the bowel movement. TMI but it's flemmy. Now ever since then I have only passed out 2 or 3 more times. But I still get the pain and same looking bowel movements but has gotten a little better with no passing out. Cheese, lettuce, corn, milk only sometimes, those are the worse but I can tolerate milk for the most part. My mom and dad have dibertikalitas and dibertikalosis lol I know I spelled them wrong but u get the general idea of what I mean I hope lol oh and when I did pass out I would throw up some of the times. It's weird. I've been told to go get it checked out but I really dont want a Tuby camera thing up in there. lol If anyone else has this or something like this let me know! thanks ladies and take care <3

Im having some tests done to see if i have an allergery to different foods and milk is one of them. I find that the pain is not worth me eatting dairy at this time. It's very hard to not do since i love it so much... but the pain is just not worth it and who knows maybe i will lose a few pounds not eatting the stuff

It is not a natural food for us to be eating/drinking. I am actually allergic to milk - have been all my life.

Eventually we realized it was the Met, and when I stopped that, it really took away the gas and upset stomachs. They still stayed around, so I tried OTC lactaid pills before meals I know I'll have dairy. That has help verrrrry much!

My Mood: Points: 3,284.39 Bank: 3,514.98 Total Points: 6,799.37 | I just wanted to add that I just finished a paper on medical anthropology (aka darwinian medicine) and it's uses in treating and preventing diabetes. In my research I found more than one study in which the authors noted a direct correlation between lactose intolerance and diabetes. That is, among populations with high percentages of lactose intolerance, there were also high percentages among that population of diabetes. When the percentage of lactose intolerance was lower among the pop, the % of diabetes went down to...
However, I never found a compelling explanation as to why, or any solid proof that the two are connected other than with statistics....
Just thought it was interesting and that I would share! |
