    Default Castor oil packs

Castor oil pack users, How do you make your castor oil packs? I have been using a dish towel and heating pad and have made many a mess. Any other suggestions?

I know this sounds like a stupid question but did anyone get red splotches on their tummy where the pack was? I did and was wondering if that's a sign on it working. I haven't had them before when I was using them. Also can you get bad cramps when the cysts break up because I got some aweful cramps the other day and I shouldn't get AF until next week. Just wondering....any answers would be appreciated....

I posted this in the TTC area under my own thread that I started but I thought I'd ask. I'm kinda flippin' out a little.

I just started doing castor oil packs to try naturally to get rid of my cysts on my ovaries. I did it for about five days for an 1-2 hours each day then I was off for three days.

Now I've been back on for two days and I started getting red splotches where the pack was. Today however (I know this sounds weird but I wouldn't lie about this) I got an ovary sized what looks like bruise on my lower left side where my left ovary would be. Then after I took a shower to remove the oil I noticed I had another one of the right side. Same height and equal distance apart to where my ovaries would be. I have also had some bad cramping off and on. I'm wondering if it's starting to work now...

has anyone else had this using castor oil?

I haven't had this happen but there was someone on this thread (I can't recall who it was) that had a similar experience and the mark went away. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's a sign that the c/o packs are working. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful as I'd be concerned too. *Hugs*

I rub a generous amount of oil right on my low belly and then place an old cotton tshirt over top and then the heating pad on top of that. I've had no trouble with messes at all. I just keep a bag beside my bed for when I'm done and wipe down my belly (but there's not usually much there as it's absorbed in my skin) and then toss the shirt in to the bag until next time. HTH.

thank you sooooo much girly! I'm so excited this is seriously the FIRST thing that has helped my screwed up body!!!! YAY! I'm def. going to keep it up!!!! AWESOME!

haha I have ONE more question...since castor oil helps your uterus as well as your ovaries and cysts do you think I'll have a normal period or a light one. I'm due for one in a couple of days and was wondering!

mommy1 I really appreciated the answer!!! thanks so much!

Honestly I'm not sure what kind of flow you'll have after starting treatments. I've been using c/o but I've also been doing IVF cycles too so I've been on so many meds and supressents etc I have no real idea. As for helping your uterus I do believe it helps any hollow area, including fallopian tubes too. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok,... I'm a little lost in here... Sorry.
I was suggested Castor Oil by a doctor online for issues with extreme pain with cramps. Is this what most everyone is using it for?
I have not yet found it, so I have not yet had the chance to try this out. Where do you find this? Usually when I am on the first day of my period I am in so much pain that I can't stand up. I can usually tell within a week or two of when I should get my period, but I have always been so irregular that I cannot exactly know. My period also used to come right away in the morning and so would the pain, so I at least knew when I was going to have a rough day ahead, now it has started to come mid day like when I'm driving an hour away to my parents house so then I'm crunched over in the driver's seat trying to make it there so I can get a heating pad, pop some pain killers and hope for it to take the edge off. It consumes my life on those days. I hate it.

I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with such awful pain! I had periods like that when I was a teenager. *Hugs*

I'm not using c/o for that, just trying to clear everything out in hopes of getting meds to work and get pg. I got my castor oil from my local health food shop. It was like $6 for a 4oz bottle. The brand I have is The Palma Christi Castor Oil. You'll want to look for pure, cold pressed oil. hth

I just ordered some C/O at www.vitacost.com they have 16oz cold pressed c/o for like $5 a bottle. I was buying at walgreens but they were only 4oz. bottles and not cold pressed and pure. I'm hoping it gets here soon.

Hopefully the pain will get better. I'm starting to get some signs that c/o is working for me now. I'm so excited, so I hope it works for you. I'm not using it for pain but to disolve cysts in my ovaries and to get my ovary and uterus back in working order come Nov when we start fertility treatments. I do get pain during my period but it's never been that bad. I hope you find that this works for you!

I've been doing the packs for about a month and a half now, and I notice that during and after the treatments I get pretty intense cramping. Feels like af is literally about to start. Is this good?? I started my herbal meds this month, and dh and I are BD like crazy. But my main concern at this point is the Castor Oil packs. Is the cramping a good sign that the cysts are disolving? Thanks!!
