I have a very sad story to tell. But I think its important to help others.
A friend of the families recently died at the age of 21, was physically fit, and took very good care of herself. Her autopsy came back that she had a massive heart attack due to the birth control patch and she smoked about a 1/2 pack a day ( not much compared to others I know). The dr said it never would have happened if she hadnt been smoking while taking it.
There are reasons why there are so many warnings on them such as age and hypertension listed with them. I know what its like to feel like you dont have a choice but to take these due to pcos but please if you are bordering on any of these warnings on the packet please reconsider taking another form of treatment if possible.
I would hate to see anybody going through the same thing for such a sad reason when she could have had a future.

I don't smoke, but when I was taking BCP's (for only 6 weeks) I was having mini-stroke like symptoms (blurred vision, massive headaches, numbness and tingling in my arm, very high blood pressure). The doc at the walk-in clinic dismissed it as the flu. The next day I went to my own GP who immediately advised stopping BCP's and never taking them again.
The pill is not for everyone, but it seems no one tells you about the side effects or possible dangers. Read the info and pay attention to possible symptoms.

oohmercyme- Thanks, Im sorry you had to go through that, thank goodness you didnt listen to the first dr. I would have throught the numbess and tingling should have sparked something to him, what a dolt.

LOL april i just moved up here from lansing i use to work at IRMC... i now live in petoskey, and we are prolly moving to highland soon i like it up here but all of our family lives down there... my parents are in Hell

Sorry it took awhile to reply, I havent been online lately. life has been hectic.
I use to live in a suburb off of flint so Im just getting used to it. I lived in a farming community mostly so its a big adjustment for me. Im sorry about you having to move. We had to move against my wishes too. Dh's work was to far of a commute so here we are. Im not familiar with highland is it up north?

April Highland is over by brighton and Milford. My parents are in Hell/gregory/Pinckney area. I miss parts of Lansing!!! i really miss Target, but there are reasons why i LOVE petoskey, and if you have ever been up here you know what im talking about good luck with the adjusting
