hiya has any1 been to the lakes? we are going to blackpool for the weekend and are going to the lakes on sun on the way home to scotland. what would be the best thing to do for someone who hasnt been before? is it a large lake and a main road that takes u threw it all or are there a few specific towns i should be looking for. we are looking for a nice drive with some lovley scenery, maybe stopping off for a bite to eat and a little walk, but we dont know the area lol
any advice or tips would be apprechiated.

We came back from their yesterday.

There are a few different lakes but main one is windermere, follow the roads that go through windermere and penrith and they are nice little towns where you can stop off for a bite to eat and you drive past the lakes.

If i were you avoid the M6 and go up the A6 and there is another road from windermere to Ulswater which has fantastic views through the hills.
