I was on CD 2 or 3 when I had my lap, didn't bother my RE in the least. Just give the nurses a heads up if you happen to be having heavy flow the day of your lap.
My lap was on a Tuesday morning and I had the rest of the week off work, which I found necessary. Took a couple of days to recover from the anesthetic, and the worst pain I found was in my neck and shoulders; which they warned me about as a side effect of the gas they use to distend your belly during the surgery. But that was gone after a day or so as well. Just take it easy for a few days, get all your cleaning and groceries done beforehand so that you've got a comfy place and fully stocked fridge when you get home. By the following week I was back to normal.
Good luck!

Started TTC in Sep/07, with low GI diet and acupuncture.
4 cycles of Clomid Oct/08-Jan/09; all BFN.
Break from TTC from Feb/09-Jul/09 due to endometriomas on both ovaries. Laparoscopy on 06/30.
Oh and if they happen to do a hysteroscopy at the same time as the lap, you can expect to bleed for an extra few days after the procedure. I didn't experience any pain or cramping with that.

I had a lap and hysteroscopy done at the same time a few weeks ago. I had the procedure on Wednesday and I was off from work the rest of the week. I'm so glad I took those days off afterwards because I was very bloated and wouldn't have been comfortable working like that. The pain wasn't bad except for the constant shoulder pain I had and the overall "gassy" feeling. The surgery did throw off my bowels and since I'm a very regular person that did add to the discomfort but by the following Monday I was back at work and feeling fine.

I'm having a hysteroscopy with general anesthesia and they are using fluid to cehck my tubes (the HSG was a miserable failure, radiologist couldn't get thorugh my cervix). Am I going to have a gassy problem, too? It's hysteroscopy only, but with fluid, which I don't think is typical. I ask because it's scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving! I'm hosting so I wanted to spend that day cleaning and getting ready. I MUST get it done next cycle. I can't afford any more delays.

Yes -- my husband will have to help. I'll do as much cleaning as possible the day before. I just hope I do't feel too crappy on Thanksgiving Day. Actually, what I really hope is I get pregnant this cycle and cancel the procedure! Ha.
