Unfortunately I live in the Interior and don't have any recommendations for out your way.

If you have Electrosis/laser done for hair removal done by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon you can write the expenses off on your taxes and have satisfaction of knowing that the doctor doing the procedure is doing it correctly.

Good Luck!

Hi Beetle girl
Explain what you mean by ''write the expenses off on your taxes''
Guide me to websites that contain such information.

I was made aware of this fact by my physician a few years ago.
In addition to confirming it on the income tax forms later the next year.
I do not however have links, nor the time to look any up.
Should you wish to further investigate this yourself, check out the The Canadian Revenue & Taxes website and check out medical expense eligability to see if the Canadian Gov't still allows this privledge.
Good Luck.

I've found
Electrolysis
- only amounts paid to a medical practitioner.

I checked the website that I recommended in my above post and sure enough things have not changed regarding this matter.

As you obviously read from theCanadian Revenue website all expenses paid to a medical practitioner(a doctor) can be written off so now you have your answer. Obviously if you are prescribed creams that are purchased from a pharmacy(or the doctor) you can write them off too.

The one way around this is if you see a plastic surgeon for the procedure, it will be classed as a plastic surgery expense and once again can be used towards your yearly medical expenses.

So like I said...if preformed by a doctor, it can be written off.
