Default Laser Hair Removal?

Anyone ever tried this? Did it work for you? Does it stay gone forever?

I've heard that it does stay gone forever but depending on the area your having done depends on the amount of treatments!

Everyone is different, and has different results.

There are a few things you should have covered before you attempt laser:

The only way you can treat the hair between sessions is by shaving.

You should have your hormones under control, or else other hairs may continue to grow. This probably means a type of antiandrogen drug like spironolactone, or some bcp's like Diane-35 or Yasmin.

It may take several treatments, upwards to a dozen or more in certain areas where hair is more dense, stubborn. Don't give up! Many cysters only need to go in for touch-ups a couple of times a year after they've finished their sessions. Some have been hair free for years. Other cysters haven't had success for various reasons.

Oh, cool. Thanks for the advice! I am not really hairy; I would love to do my underarms and/or nether regions so I don't have to shave there anymore, lol.

No problem! I just noticed you are ttc - so definitely no on the spiro or bcp! lol

But for what it's worth, laser is safe during ttc & pregnancy!

I have done this, and I have been doing it for the past 3 years.

It does work, but because PCOS they consider a hormone disorder, they will not guarntee it like everyone else.

I go to a place where I pay for a year of service, and then I have a 2 year guarntee. But because they can't guarntee it, I get 2 more years of treatment.

Now my hair did start to go away, and I go every 4-6 weeks. If I miss an appointment, someitmes some does grow back. But if I stay on my schedule more and some goes away. I have just put my account on hold because we are doing IVF, and it could cause harm to the baby.

Now it is going to be different for everyone, but that is just the way I responded.

I HTH.

I had LHR and it worked - I have been hair free on my chin for over two years now. I highly recommend it - it changed my life.

I am seriously thinking about getting it. I would not go crazy & have it done everywhere but in certain places where I either hate to shave every few days or where it doesn't belong!

Yania ~ If that is the case with most PCOS'ers, I'd love to know where I can find a clinic or person who does it that offers those kinds of deals. How much are your sessions or yearly costs?

Quicksilver ~ That sounds great; hair free forever, LOL! I am Brunette & know it works best for darker haired people.

I had laser treatment done, and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I had a total of 8 sessions done and omg the results are amazing. I was very lucky that I found a DR. that was willing to give me a break on the price. Alot of people have laser treatment done for vanity reasons but mine was a quality of life issue. The hair on my face was so bad it was taking over my life.

I say if you can afford it give it a try. I don't think you'll be sorry.

May I ask how many sessions you had to undergo before it was gone?

I also HIGHLY recommend LHR! I have had 5 sessions thus far and have very little hair left! I am so happy. I feel sooo much better about myself. I don't have to hide my hairy neck anymore!

Depends on the place! I pay $175 for full face. After I pay for 6 treatments I get a year of free touch-ups.

Oh, man oh man it sounds wonderful & worthwhile the more I read ya'lls responses, LOL! Affording it isn't an issue but it being worth it is! I don't want the hair to grow back, or have rough stubble or anything like that. I want to be smooooooth. LOL!

It sounds great, though. I need to find someone ... How did ya'll find your DR's to do the procedure? Also, does it hurt?
