Talking laser hair removal

So excited!
Yesterday was my second zapping session for gentleLASE hair removal, and I am so pleased with the results. Had that whole hairy arm thing (among other places, but arms only being treated right now), and the results are great. With a month since the last treatment, I hadn't had much regrowth, and I almost feel normal! It is amazing what it will do for your self image. I am more motivated to stick with my Insulin-resistant friendly diet, becuase I am eliminating one of the more obvious symtoms of PCO.
I decided to have this done after one my pre-schoolers (i teach) told me "you have arms like my daddy." She was so sweet about it, but it crushed me. I got serious, and my sweet sweet hubby and I went to the doctor. It is not elecrtolysis which targets one hair at a time, but a little laser zapper. Kinda feels like someone tapping you with a hot iron, but then it is gone!
My DH and I call it my "monkey treatments."
I highly recommend it to all the other cysters if you are considering it. It has really helped boost me up!

Much love to you all!

Default Cost...?

I am so happy this is working for you! I have the same problem, I'm spending about 100$ a month on salon waxing for my face, arms, and legs. How much is the laser removal, and is it perminant? What do you know?

Thanks!

Meiko

I am so glad that you posted that! I am going for laser hair removal next week and I was getting a bit aprehensive. I'm having my facial hair removed and the first treatment will be $300. Each treatment after will cost less depending on how much hair is left. In the back of my mind I've been wondering if I'm going to be spending money on something that won't work. I've been doing really well with my low carbing and I've started exercising every day. But the hair is the one symptom that I have the most trouble dealing with. I am so sick of shaving and plucking and I decided that I am going to do this for me. Heck, I deserve it!

The cost varies a bit based on hair growth, number of treatments, etc. It isnt totally permanent, but after the hair follicles are blasted away, you end up having like a year to three year longn period until you need another zapping. I am paying $400 for a year of treatment, but I may need less because after this first dose, I had less regrowth than expected and that may cut down on the number of treatment i need throughout the years.
Go and talk to someone! It is great!

I've had laser done and I think it helped quite a bit, although I still have some hair. I think I will have some more done when I decide I can afford it, though.

Default LASERS WHICH ONES

Okie well I think the question is are there different lasers out there that are better than others. I have done some research but I wanted to know for you sisters. I have done treatments with the Alexandrite Gentlelase Plus. Is this the most common one. OR is this the best one? Well I used to get it done and went about 4 times. But I want something stronger and more potent. Can anyone help??

I use the gentleLASE, and maybe if you are looking for something stronger, tell them to up your zapping dosage. They started me at 18% but now I am at 20.
Hope that helps

it's good to hear it is working so well for you! I've been saving up some money to do it but don't have enough yet. How long is it inbetween treatments? and is it safe to do anywhere? biki zone and chest? Your experience is really encouraging.

I too also have had laser hair removal treatments w/ the gentlease laser and I must say it is unbelieveable. It has been 4 weeks since my last treatment and not one hair on my face. I had chin, cheekfs, lip and sideburns done. I paid $850.00 for the entire treatment which includes lifelong vistits as often as I need them. I feel I won't need them. I went from plucking 2 hours every night to nothing..... Yes the cost can be considerable but if think how much you will spend on hair removers, wax, razors and such it is well worth it. I paid $400.00 up front and the remaing $450.00 is paid in $100.00 increments each time I go.

The boost to my self estemm is immeasureable, I finally can wear my hair away from my face w/ out being embarassed. Some people give up to quickly because it may seem like the hair is still there and it is but it is not growing it is just coming to the surface and once it falls out poof it is gone. The reaseon for numerous treatments is that the hair grows in differentc cycles.

I feel I spent the best $850.00 in my life as it has given me so much freedom... I can now go to the beach w/ out being embarrased that my makeup will come off and people will see the hair and I can go out to the store without applying a pond of make-up. If anyone has an oppurtunity to have this done, do it . Sorry I spoted off for so long.

Some lasers are FDA approved for permancy and others are not. Make sure the treatment you are getting is permanent. Often it isn't. They usually give a guaruntee if it is permanent.
