Default which laser for hair removal?

I am looking to get some laser hair removal soon. I have no idea what is out there. I know that there are different lasers. Which ones work best? Which ones are safest? I have fair skin, brown hair so I am a good candidate? Dunno. I don't want to waste time and money on something that isn't the best.

Thanks.

If you're fair-skinned w/ dark hair then you're the perfect candidate for the laser. However, if the place you go to is truly professional, they'll do a test spot (for free) on your skin to make sure that their particular laser is right for you. They also have to make sure they're using the right setting so that they don't burn you. Once they do the test, you wait a few days to see how it effects your skin. The place I go to uses several lasers. The one that works for me is called the Lyra Laser. It works on all skin types--I have very sensitive skin, so it's great for me. The last time I went for a session, they tried a newer, more advanced laser that was supposed to be even better (can't recall what it's called), but it burned my skin and really did nothing about the hair. I ended up with little spots all over my chin. If you're worried about wasting money, I'd call the place first, and see if they'd do a free spot test because you have sensitive skin and you're worried about paying just to end up with an adverse effect. They'll probably start you at a low setting to see how your skin reacts. I know you don't want to hear this (because I didn't want to hear this) but the best way to be sure that the hair (or at least most of it) goes away is to diet and exercise--that, coupled with the treatments will definitely work. I've lost about 20lbs since I started the treatments and it has truly helped. You'll notice the hair coming in like nothing more than fine baby hair.

Hope this helps. : )

I know that new hair will grow in unless I do something to manage the hormones. I am taking metformin and have a good supplement regimen. I feel I have the hormones under fairly good control. It is just that the hair that has grown in the past is still there and still growing.

Thank you for your information on the spot test, I will ask about it.
