Laser Hair Removal for Redheads/Medium Hair Color?

I was wondering if anyone who has medium colored hair, mine is a dark copper color, has had any success with laser hair removal? What type of laser etc? From what I've read it works best if you have dark hair and light skin and my skin is light but my hair isn't very dark and I'm worried about wasting money.

Hi Jenn,

I am getting a full body hair removal done at an American Laser Center. They have multiple lasers for all hair colors and types. You could visit their website, contact them and see what they say, they are opening up clinics nation wide. I think it is only white and clear hairs that are the hardest to treat, but they told me that they can treat those hairs also. They offer financing, and I'm doing the total body instead of driving a new car. Oh, it's so worth it!!!!!

Dawn I Wanted To Ask How Much Are They Charging You For The Whole Body.. I Too Go To American Laser Center But For Whole Face.

Hi Rosura,

The day I walked in to ALC last year, I had no clue that I would finance a full body. I asked about the cost for thighs, face, and tummy. When she added up the cost, she then told me the price for full body. It retailed for something like 13K, and after discounts, etc. she came up with a figure close to 6K, and I told her I couldn't spend more than 5K, and she said, OK! I think the mgmt have some flexibility with pricing. I paid 5K, but I financed, so it will be much more in the long run. It's worth it to me, and I'm doing this and choosing to driving an old car!

Thanks Dawn, I will have my levels tested again in July and if their ok then I'll give American Laser Centers a try, there are a few in my area. Keep me posted on treatment if you'd like. Best Wishes.

DawnS - I'm curious to hear what your results were. My hair is not very dark, but coarse, and I'm hoping laser will give me at least some reduction. How well did it work on your hair colour?
