I am thinking of getting it done. Specially the upper lip and cheeks. Anyone done it and what is your experience. Is it worth doing it? How much did it cost you and how many sessions? Too many questions but I am sure it will help other cysters too.

I'd love to hear too. I have been thinking about looking into laser hair removal for some time now. I was told that if you are blonde it may not work on you. Has anyone ever heard of that? I friend of mine went for a consult and that's what they told her but she was getting her bikini area done.
I have gone through the laser hair removal. I used a company called Sona, not very pleased at all. I paid to have my chin and side burns done, bcz that was really the only huge amount of hair I had. During treatment I noticed the hair becoming less and less and I was so happy! However, not only did it all come back, but it also came back in places where I didn't have a problem before (neck and upper lip), so I wasted about $800.00. It wasn't really painful, other than to the wallet, you just feel some slight pinching and redness. Also, as background I am mixed race black and white and because of that I have both peach fuzz and coarse black hairs, my skin tone it about the same as alicia keys. This makes laser treatment a bit more complicated. The lady at Sona told me that if she had any problems with my skin tone or hair type she would send me to her other location which was about 45 mins away. There they supposively had a laser that worked especially well on tan skin and lighter hairs, well she never sent me so that may be why the hair came back and then some. It is now 2 yrs later and I am trying a different place, American Laser, and for anyone in the Charlotte, NC area I have a few discount cards I will share, anyways I like them a lot better. Only time will tell, but they use a whole different type of laser. It is much more powerful and it can be use on all skin tones and all hair types and colors. So far I am very pleased. As far as pricing, it is about the same. I had a discount card someone gave me and I elected to do full face and partial neck, it was much cheaper than isolating a few areas plus they can hit my eyebrows for me too! The cost was about 1700 and they have an excellent payment plan with no interest. So we will see, but I am definitely please with the results so far, I am on my second treatment and my skin feels much smoother and it also helps with acne. The worst thing about laser, to me, is that you cannot tweeze, you have to shave...yuck!

I had 5 treatments a few years ago. Didn't work for me, maybe because I didn't get my hormones in control. I don't know. The lady also burnt me. I did here it works for other people though. I want to try again and hoping by the time I can afford it they'll have better lasers by then. LOL
I have had the Laser treatment done, actually I have my last appointment tomorrow at 4:30 (a series of 6 visits). Yes definantly hurts your wallet. But I would suggest to wait, unless you are sure that your doctor can manage to keep your hormones under control. When I first started to have it done, it worked beautifully. But....(yes, always a but) the doctor that I was seeing at the time didn't want to do anything for me, or even try to help me when my testerone, reached about 120. He said that there was nothing that he could do until I went through menopause...pfft right..currently seeing a new doctor now. But anyways, my hair started to come back because of the hormones were way way way outta wack. And at the place that I went, they did not do refunds, otherwise I would have stopped the treatments, saved the money from that and started them at a later date. But the cheapest way for me to originally go was to buy a backage of six, which covered the sideburns, lip, cheeks, chin, and neck. It came out to be roughly $2100.00. The place also had these credit cards that are just for health care, it is called care credit, and mine was intrest free for a year, I paid it off a few months ago, with no interest. But I would definantly make sure that your hormones are in check, and when you go, find out their policy regarding guarntees. The place I went to has full guarntee, and I didn't know that, so when I had gone for my initial consult, I explained my situation with the PCOS, and then they said well the guarntee does not apply to you. Blah...stupid people. Anyways, it is virtually painless, it just feels like someone taking a rubberband and snapping you really quick. And they do a test run first, on a very low setting, if you can handle it they turn it up and so on.
Hope that helps.
Oh and most insurance companies will not cover it because they consider it cosmetic. I even had medical necessity from 5 different doctors and they still would not approve it.
