Question Laser Hair Therapy for Hair Loss (LLLT)

Has anyone tried this? I had a consult today and it seemed to give me some hope but I'm not 100% convinced. They had a lot of progress photos and said that it works better for women than men.

I'm thinking of doing it but wanted to see if anyone had any experiences they could share.

Thanks!

I have not heard of this. Very Interesting. Is it very expensive? How many treatments?

Sorry, no experiences, but I have read up on it. It seems to work by reducing the testosterone from the surface of the skin and thereby minimizing its effect.

But it requires relatively long treatment times to make significant reductions and even then it works in only a proportion of those treated.

Of course it will work better, on average, for women than for men, because women, on average, have lower testosterone levels than men. However, one of the things with PCOS is that not only has the body been sensitized during fetal existence to respond readily in later life to testosterone (or at least that's the case if your fourth fingers are longer than your index fingers) but many women with PCOS have testosterone levels as high as most males. So what it comes down to is if you haven't much testosterone problem anyway, it may work quite well in some instances, but for most people it simply isn't realistic.

In any case, in the same was as is true of Vaniqa in relation to curbing growth of facial hair, the minute you stop the treatment, it appears you're back to square one.
