Points: 1,117.78 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,117.78 | Just bought a FULL BODY package at American Laser Center!!! Ladies,
I just bought a full body package at my local American Laser Center, I'm so excited! I was able to get financing for a complete body package, at what I believe to be a very fair price! I walked in there to get a quote on what it would cost me to have laser on my upper legs, stomach and facial area, the areas that affect my self esteem the most. I was thinking that it would be around $3500, and that I would have to save for at least a year. Well, I was able to get my FULL body, 6x treatments per part, including unlimited touch ups for 2 full years following the treatments, for $5000.00, after the running specials where deducted from the retail price, and she took off an extra 600.00 because 5K was my limit! I am so thankfull to the LORD for this! If anyone lives in or near Ann Arbor Michigan, I recommend it highly! The clinic manager really cares about me getting results! I will let everyone know over time how my results are. I'm so excited!!!!

And the thing is that at 15 nobody's hormones are stable. Yours could quite well stabilize in the normal female range without any interference with them.
Having said that, mine didn't -- I was shaving my moustache by 14 and at 15 I was shaving it every day -- my hormones stabilized, but my testosterone was in the male range which stopped my breasts developing and gave me a male-type moustache growth and male-type body hair. I'm quite happy shaving, but I know that if I were going for laser I'd need to get my hormones into the female range or the hair would just grow straight back. |

I'm really looking into getting face and neck area lasered but I'm a bit apprehensive because I'm not sure what the results will be (also a bit scared of pain!..lol... ) Also is there obvious signs of the procedure such as redness in the area that is treated? I know, I know I'm a baby! lol I appreciate the info. Thanks in advance!

I was red for about an hour, but thats it. Just make sure the person doing it knows what thery are doing and is more conservative than aggresive. you dont want burns. I went every 8-12 weeks for about a year and Im very happy.

Points: 6,532.19 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,532.19 | I'm considering laser hair removal for the first time and I'd like some advice...I have an appointment set for this Wednesday at Ideal Image to do my chin, jawline, and upper neck for $870 upfront, but I'm thinking of cancelling because I'd like to research American Laser Centers some more, since I read that they can do both dark and blonde hair. I also want to price-check some more, since Ideal Image seems to be charging a lot and I don't really feel that I have enough hair to justify spending so much [well, I do, but a lot of it is blonde and wouldn't be removed by Ideal Image]. Does anyone have experience with either company? I think I'm going to cancel the appt. and do some research before I go through with it, and I'd appreciate any info!
ETA: I also want to cancel the appt. because I felt very rushed at the consultation to choose areas to treat and set the appt. I was in there for about 15 minutes and I didn't even get a chance to explain how my hair grows [sparse, with some thick blonde hairs and some thick dark hairs and a lot of soft blonde hair]. Because I felt rushed, I don't feel that I had time to make a truly informed decision.

My Mood: Points: 845.86 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 845.86 | I have just had my 4th treatment. I have my jawline, chin and neck done. It costs $65.00 per treatment and I have to go about every 5 to 6 weeks. If I need to go for touch-ups after my 6th treatment it is 1/2 price. I LOVE it! I used to obsess about the hairs on my face. They were very dark and I have very pale skin. I felt as if everyone was staring at me all the time. I had problems with acne due to the ingrown hairs and with the laser treatment it is now gone too! YaY!
It doesn't hurt too much. Like August75 said it is like being snapped with a rubberband. I have very sensitive skin and I am red for a couple of hours and pink for the rest of the day. By the next day my skin is normal. They usually (and should) start with the laser on the lowest setting until they see how you will tolerate it.
The technician who does my treatments said that sometimes insurance companies will cover laser hair removal and that they usually need a letter from a dermatologist stating that you have very bad folliculitus (ingrown hairs that cause that acne). So anyone who has that problem may want to check into that as well.

Points: 2,730.59 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,730.59 | I have had 4 treatments of laser hair removal. I saw results every time but the last one.
I saw very little results and it hurt more than any other time. I skipped December 's appointment and I have one next wedensday. I must say it has grown all back alot finer than it was but its still there. Ive gotten alot of compliments on how good my face looks so it is working Im just wondering for how long Ill have to do treatments. my dr thought I was pretty much done except for maintence appointments.
I wonder what he will say when he sees me next wedensday. Its been 8 weeks since Ive seen him.
Talk to you all soon

My Mood: Points: 845.86 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 845.86 | I have my 5th laser appt. tomorrow. I am seeing great results although I still have hair, they are fine and lighter and not nearly as many as there were before. They reccommend 6 appointments before you are considered "done". I was told I may need more for maintenence due to my crazy hormonal fluctuations especially while ttc and on injections etc. I still think its very much worth it. I get compliments all the time on how good my face looks and it has done wonders for my self confidence!! Beats the mess of wax too!!

My Mood: Points: 1,264.65 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,264.65 | help I am 28 years old and went through the electrolisys (spelled wrong) treatments but I was pregnant at the time and I thought all was going well until after I had my daughter and all the hair grew back then some. Some people tell me that laser might work better as people with PCOS have had greater positive results. I am light brown with dark in my opinion thick hair growing and it never ends. I have to shave daily and the more I shave the faster it grows. My grandmother has offered to pay for the treatments as she did for the earlier ones but I don't want to waiste her money again.
Any advice please

Points: 1,117.78 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,117.78 | Hello ladies,
I'm very close to having my second treatment of laser over my entire body. It hasn't been until the second treatments that I've noticed some acutal patches gone, and hair lost. I think they tell us six for a reasonable result, but acutally it could be much more for 100% hair loss, as you have to get the hair in a certain stage of hair growth. I'm pleased, however, it's a slow slow process! American laser center will only treat an area every 3 months, so the process will take a long time.

I haven't seen any results yet. Tomorrow I go in for my 4th treatment and I am hoping to see some results.
I am very disappointed so far.
Any advice? |

Any advice? | Jennifer,
Are the chin hairs darker than your skin color? If you are trying to laser hair that isn't darker than your skin color, I'm pretty sure that laser won't be very affective.
