Default Laser for Red Heads

Any redheads out there try laser? Any success?

Everything I read say it only works for dark hair. The coarse hairs on my face get very dark (some dark brown, some dark red).

All of leg, pubic and armpit hair is dark red and VERY coarse. The hair on my head (which is now falling out) is light and thin.

I'm blonde and very fair with freckles and I've noticed a big difference after my first treatment. My 2nd one is tomorrow morning, so I'm sure there will be another difference after that.

Ok, I just got back from my 2nd treatment with a different lady.

She told me that since my hair was blonde with a fair amount of red tones in it that the laser might not work. If it does it might only reduce by around 50%. She also said that some of her other clients with this hair color usually only go for 2-3 treatments and thats enough. They find it more manageable but it will never be totally clear.

Like I said before, I did notice a large difference in the growth time and amount of hair after the first treatment. Although I was really discouraged from hearing this today, I think its been well worth the $$ this far. We will see what its like after a few weeks.

She also mentioned that Harvard has been working on a process the last few years on a cream that will somehow darken the roots so the laser works better for all hair colors.

Hope this helps,
Kali
