Default At last some answers

Hi Ladies
Yesterday I got the results from my blood tests
My Progesterone level was 1.5!!!!!!
Even post O it's supposed to be over 5
Anyway the Dr said from the remiains that it was at least a twin pg, and if it happens again I need to be on lots of progesterone
I'm going to be taking some time off this time though
My poor body, and poor BF just can't take it anymore
I guess it gives me some kind of peace knowing now what was wrong
I'm going to give myself some time to greive, and reflect.
Also I'm starting a new job, and I want to be able to foucus all my energy on that.
Does anyone else have that low progesterone during pg?

that's very low did they tell you that?
I can post you some web sights where they tell you what the levels are supposed to be.....
Also I think it's part of a luteal phase defefect, have you been tested for that?

I am so sorry for your loss. Take some comfort in the knowledge that next time around there are things that can be done to improve your chances for success.

Last July I had a m/c at 7 weeks. I had a very tiny bit of spotting and went in for an u/s to see what was going on. We saw the baby and the heartbeat. The dr did bloodwork to check my levels but 4 hours later I started m/cing and by the next day on u/s everything was gone. My b/w showed that the HCG level was where it should be but that my progesterone was too low to support a pregnancy. After more tests I was diagnosed with pcos and put on glucophage.

When I got pregnant in Feb the dr monitored my b/w very closely and at 6 weeks my p4 was 25. (The doctors like to see it over 20.) Just to be safe the dr put me on prog. supplements from week 6 to week 13. At my 11 week b/w my prog. level had dropped to 22, and that was on supplements. The dr thought that without the supp. that I probably would have lost this preg too.

When you feel up to it, talk to your dr about what can be done to prevent the low prog. level in the future. In the meantime, take time to grieve and heal. Many hugs to you and hopefully you will be back on the preg board sooner than you know.

The Dr I'm seeing now is really great (too bad I meet him too late)
He's already said that if it happens again I need progesterone support, and that I'm to have HCG, and progesterone tests every second day
I'm so lucky I finally found a Dr who knows what needs to be done
For years it was loke hitting a brick wall knowing what need to be done but not finding a Dr who knew what to do
I finally broke down this time and phoned a midwife this time, and she told me about Dr Lucas

That's great! Having a doctor that listens to you and takes this PCOS curse seriously is 3/4 of the battle. My dr. is the same way - very proactive. He is very positive and very reassuring.

When you are ready to TTC again, it sounds like you have someone in your corner who will make it happen for you.

Sending lots of baby dust your way!
