I know lots of women here are young and child bearing age, I'm older and unfortunately past that point.
I'm looking for women who have started or are in menopause or post menopausal.
My question is, how has Menopause effected your PCOS??How did you know you were in menopause? The hot sweats, odd periods, moodyness... doesn't that describe all of us all the time with PCOS... How did you know things were different? I'm on Met and it has regulated my cycles for almost 10 years now but I'm wondering... if you were on met, how did you know when you were near or in menopause? I always have hot sweats when I sleep, always have... nothing is different for me yet, I'm 49 and wondering... how will I know... my endo... don't get me started, all he said to me is, "when you are in menopause I'll take you off the met." I personally don't think thats a good idea, I worry about the facial hair getting worse if I go off, it's still bad being on it but I'm worried it will get worse going off.
So, you women here that are effected by menopause in anyway... how has it affected your PCOS (so far)? Help!
Thanks,
Kath in WI

Welcome! There are quite a few cysters over 40 on this site. I'm in my mid 30s, but interested in menopause and PCOS. You might want to introduce yourself on Getting To Know You, mentioning an age range or menopausal cysters in the title.
We have some cysters who are in their mid and upper 40s, and seems I recall one mentioning being in her early 50s. The best I can tell, none of us know what to expect from menopause. My biggest fear is that I'll have to get off all the drugs that are keeping my testosterone close to normal, and that the hair will start sprouting again. Lots of non-PCOS ladies have problems with facial hair after menopause, so ours is likely to be even worse.
