Default Late/missing period on Yasmin?

So, here's the deal...

I have been on Yasmin for a few months. My period always comes near the middle of the week of inactive pills. The latest it has ever come is Thursday morning. Now it's Friday afternoon and no sign of it yet... I am not super worried but I had some questions.

Last month, I lost a pill out of my pack. I did NOT miss a pill because I just took the next day's pill, which is OK with Yasmin because all the pills contain the same amount of chemicals. However, this made me one day ahead on all my pills, so for my last active pill, I had to take one from my next pack (which I am turning into a "backup pack" so I don't get confused.)

Ok, that's all fine and dandy... BUT... when I went to the pharmacy to get that next pack, they gave me the generic Yasmin. I didn't realize until I got home. I looked it up on the internet and found out that generic Yasmin is actually the same exact pill as regular Yasmin, just not labeled as a brand name. It is produced by the same company and is identical (from what I can understand. I know many generics aren't.) So, this shouldn't matter, right? I know it would cause problems to take 23 pill of one type and 1 of another in a cycle, but it appears that all 24 pills were the same...

I am just wondering if this might be the cause of my late period... I have never missed a pill ever. I do not always take it at the exact same time every day, but whenever I wake up, which is usually between 10-1 (most often it's around 10.) I was under the impression this was OK.

I think in the last couple months my period has been moving forward a little... like first it would come on Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday... so maybe this is normal. But it seems odd. My next pack will start on Sunday so I only have like two days left to have a period...

When is the soonest I can take a pregnancy test to make sure I am not pregnant? I have been having sex the whole time I was on the pill this month and in previous months. No condoms. He pulls out but I know this is not a reliable method, however, I thought it was OK because I am on the pill and I never miss it.

Any advice? Thanks ladies.

I know, I plan to, but I don't know when I should take it. I never have had to take one before. When does my period offically count as "missed"? When I start my next pack? And can the hormones in BCP mess up a pregnancy test?
