Default Late period on BCP

Well, the thread title pretty much says it all. I'm on diane 35 bcp and am now 2 days late from my normal time of getting my period. I take my pill everyday at the same time and haven't missed any. Besides being pregnant are there any other reasons that could make me this late getting my period?

Any advice would be appreciated!

My dr explained to me that at times it is normal to skip a period or two on birth control pills and if you are doing everything right than you should have no worries. I have done it a few times with BCP. Hope it comes soon!! I hate being on BCP waiting for a period!!!

I'm on Diane as well - normally, I only get my period about 3-4 days after stopping the pill.

Having said that, there were several months where I wasn't exercising regulary, and my diet wasn't healthy - my insulin levels were at an all-time high. This definitely impacted when I got my period, and even the type of period I got. During this time, I was lucky to get a period 6 days after I stopped the pill.

It really depends on your body type, and also your insulin.

Coffeequeen,

Thanks so much for your reply! My crisis has been averted as my period finally showed up today. I've never been so relieved to see it! lol Its the first time in almost two years of continuous use that its been off. Its usually exact on the day, almost down to the hour!

Echobelly,

Thanks so much for your reply. I did finally get my period but I'm on day 7 and start the new pack tommorow. Way late off my regular time!

What you've posted is I think exactly what has happened. I'm not exercising as regularly as I used to be since I recently moved home and lost access to my gym. Moving home has also made it entirely too easy to enjoy things I wasn't eating away from home. Home cooked meals are so good and tempting! I've also not been taking my metformin properly . I seem to be all out of a routine since moving home. I'm sure my insulin is extremely high, even though I haven't gained weight. That will have to be my goal for this month since I didn't enjoy being late at all! I need to get on a schedule again.

Thanks again you've really helped me a lot.
