Question Laws in Canada with vacation & mat leave

Hi all,

Just wondering what the laws are in Canada

As of January 1st, I get my 2 weeks vacation to take when ever during the year (and of course break up anyway I want to), now that's if I wasn't pregnant... I am due in March and was wondering what the labour law is for this... Am I still aloud my 2 weeks vacation or have I lost this or is this up to the company that I work for???

Just want to know my rights before I talk to my company...

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that's right. My sister had her baby in September of this year but took her two weeks holiday in July.

You can google "pregnancy and parental leave" (your province) to get publications to back it up.

It depends on your company. In most companies you're still considered an employee if you're on mat leave so you should definitely use those days up. If you don't take your vacation before you leave, they should carry them forward to next year. But again that depends on the company, that's how it worked for the past 3 I've worked for.
