OK, so I have been searching for a lawyer that might be able to help us with some legal questions about donor eggs and no one seems to know what I am talking about. I actually had a lawyer tell me that it was illegal! (He thought I meant paying someone to be my surrogate) I live in a small state, but I would think someone might have a slight clue. Do you think the RE's office might have any ideas?

After 4 miscarriages, we are moving on to adoption. We are looking to adopt a bi-racial baby from a private agency in Florida.
All adoption paperwork is done and we are patiently (ha!) waiting for our little dream come true!

I also found this when I searched for adoption attorneys in SD:
selecting an adoption lawyer
If you do not know an adoption lawyer personally, you may want to consult the lawyer referral service of the State Bar listed in the yellow pages of your South Dakota telephone directory. Choose your lawyer for his or her skill, reputation in the community and integrity. It is very important that you retain an experienced adoption lawyer for the reason that there are many special laws that might apply to your case. For instance, there are special federal and state laws that must be followed if the child to be adopted is Native American, if the child is from another country, or if the child or the prospective adoptive parents live in another state.
The adoption process is a wonderful process that gives children the "forever home" that they so greatly deserve.

I think an adoption attorney may be a good place to start. Hopefully, you haven't already talked to all of them in your area and come up short!

I agree with Viv...contact the Bar Office in your state. ALso, like BlueBabeyDiva said, the RE office has probably worked with this situation before and may have some suggestions...
How about an adoption attorney. Essentially you're "adopting" the eggs so I think it works the same as adoption/surrogate.
Your RE office may also be able to help you.
Good Luck!
