Angry Leg Fluid(Edema?)

I was just curious what meds that for those who have this are taking. I was on Lasix at one time but didn't seem to see much results unless I doubled the doasge. Now that I've had GBS I don't know if it would be wise as dehydration is a risk. Thanks in advance. Btw, I'm down 80 pds but now that I'm back to to my full crazy schedule the tree trunks(legs) have reappeared.

Do you swim? Swimming or water walking is one of the best things I have found to quickly help if you are retaining fluids. Something about the bouyancy of water helping with circulation? If you can, try it! You will be surprised!

I have taken aldactone and it worked very well for me, but I don't have any experience with lasix. My mother sometimes has bad (pitting) edema due to other medications she takes, and she found that the thiazide diuretics worked best for her. Maybe you can ask your doctor for a different kind to try?

I started taking spironolactone(generic for Aldactone) in January. It's lowering my androgen levels and decreasing the edema at the same time. Can't get any better than that.

I'm really thinking about going back on the spiro. Thanks! I may try the swimming thing too.
