Don't see much discussion on leg shaving but its at least something we almost all have to go through so thought we could discuss this a bit.
Even after I use a brand new razor with shaving cream after I get out of the shower if I rub on my leg hard I can feel little prickly hairs still! Why is this? Is it because my hair follicles are quite thick? This is another problem that bothers me, I can never have those sort of flawless looking legs after I shave. One of my close friends has the most perfect legs so it bothers me quite a bit when I am around here as I can see all of the little hair follicles on my leg. Does anyone else have this problem? They are like little dark dots all over, I almost think this has something to do with my being so pale so it's like my skin is almost transparent... know what I mean?
So any advice on what I can do about these problems, or just your own experiences with leg shaving are much appreciated ladies
I gave up shaving and started epilating because I got sick of still being able to see the hairs below the skin because my skin was so pale and my hair was so dark.
So I dont have any shaving tips sorry!

i know what you mean i shave my legs twice. Once going down my leg,and then going up my leg. If you see what i mean Could you try something else instead?? how about cream - like nair or something. (I cant use these cos my skin is so sensitive)

I hate those stupid black dots on my white legs!!! I am going to start laser treatment on my legs next Friday. I am so excited. I am sick and tired of shaving DAILY, then hours lady I am hairy again.

i get those dreaded dots too, anyone else have problems with 'self tanners' accentuating those dots? lol my best friend and i went through that last summer.
I second the exfoliation and soaking beforehand... Try taking a hot bath first and scrub your legs well, and then shave right after that... I like to apply something like a scent-free baby oil on right after, it helps keep them feeling smooth (at least until I get the goose bumps, lol)...
I want to try epilating, but it just seems like it would hurt too much. I mean there is so much space to cover!

How is that going? Did you feel the need to use a numbing cream? I'm hoping its not really necessary. I can't wait until I no longer have to shave. Also, what are you paying? I am paying $300 per treatment for full leg and top of feet (Im hairy there, too!!) using the GentleLASE. Just curious what others are paying!

Hey. Me too! U can see black dots on my legs no matter how close I try to shave. I dont have any advice, but at least ur not alone. I'm probably gonna save up for laser hair removal like the other posters are doin.
But I got a question for u or anyone else with this problem too. Do u get any comments from people, like cuz my pores on my legs are obvious too. I have such pale skin. I wore pants all summer long last year cuz I was afraid someone would say something! This year, screw it. I'm wearing my capris!
I have to shave literally almost EVERYDAY. I use hair minimizing lotion and sugar exfoliant from bath and body to help with the dry skin. I have a problem with hair on my arms to. Tried nair does not work and I would love to do laser but it got to expensive for me. I found Soleil razors worked and now I also use Schick silk effects with Noxzema Hair mininmizing shaving cream. Hopeful about it. We'll see.

Mikekellysgirl : The soliel razors work for you??????? Everyone I know as well as myself have cursed those razors to death! They cut up my skin so much, blood was everywhere and my legs were ruined for a few weeks! Same thing happened to some friends of mine who had tried it so consider yourself lucky!
