Question Leg Swelling Anyone!?!?

Hi everyone!

I was diagnosed with PCOS via ultrasound (string of pearls) and bloodwork (raised LH) a couple of months ago; however, I've been dealing with the problems associated with it for about a year now.

I have swelling in my right leg, that my doctor thinks isn't cyst related. I was wondering if any of you have had this as well?

My right side actually is swollen from my abdomen to my ankle. It's got me pretty concerned, but it's not hot and it doesn't hurt, it just swells up really bad by the end of the day. But not the left side! I mean I have gained like 50 pounds in the past year but, I don't think that's doing it- as it's only on the one side!

Any ideas?

Lulu

Well, I retain water in my knees and they swell from time to time. Sometimes one will swell and not the other. I asked my endo about this and joint pain and he told me that its because of my weight. I told him that I lost 40 pounds two years ago and he still thinks its my weight and told me to lose some more weight. I don't know why your leg is swollen. Watch your salt intake, exercise a little and watch your sugar levels. Maybe that will help some. If not, go back and see the doctor again.

Drinking more water has really helped my leg swelling. My feet and legs used to swell up so painfully I would be in tears but now I don't have that problem at all and I'm very overweight (trying to change that).

I had a problem about 3 years back, with swelling only in my left left (mainly my calf). After running all sorts of tests like fluids, and searching for blood clots, turns out I had a HUGE uterine fibroid growing back towards a vein in my leg. The only symptom I had was the swollen leg and a 'poochy' belly. (I attributed the belly to pcos, but it was the big fibroid and 3 additional ones.)

The largest weighed about 4 pounds and was the size of a baby's head, the others were smaller (but still around the size of lemons), which is why my belly looked so big.

Get to the doctor to see what's what.
