Talking less facial hair due to saw palmetto or provera???

Cystes,
I am so hyped-- Last Tuesday, I woke up & DID NOT have to shave my dark, course facial hair all day long. That night it was still smooth. I was so excited, I let -- well, insisted that a friend touch my chin. I wanted to be sure, positive that I wasn't dreaming. Yes, it's true!!!
Then on Wednesday, only this little patch of hair on the right side of my chin. I am still shocked. It gets better, girls... Thursday, was only some overall hair growth. Since then it has seriously, tapered off. I FEEL LIKE A GIRL AGAIN. My scalp hair is showing new growth & the facial hair is slowing down. I don't know if it's the saw palmetto (since March 2003) or the provera for days 1-12 each month (since November 2002). I did start reusing Vaseline Intensive Care Dry Skin formula & it has soy whatever thingamajigs in it. I perfer Suave Powder Fresh version, b/c of the scent & it's cheap. Maybe it has been the recent drinking of water?
I want to know b/c I haven't felt this GIRLY GIRL in years. It was almost back to regular shaving yesterday, but STILL a day without shaving is ANSWERED PRAYER. THANK YOU GOD!!!!
Now, about this spare tire attached to my formerly known as waist & flat abs??? If I lose the beard, mustoche, sideburns, chest hair, etc, I may even work on the other issues that I use as reasons/ excuses not to date. Maybe
Whoo hoo, Yippeee, Holla... Sorry, I was having a " I can't believe it's been hours & my chin is still smooth" moment.
Later Days,
Linda S.

Linda, that's such wonderful news! I love to hear success stories like this.

If I had to guess, I would say it's the saw palmetto that's working for you only because when I was on provera, my hair issues would get worse! But everybody's different anyways.

Default GRINNING LIKE CRAZY

Thank you my fellow Cysters. I believe this is true that saw palmetto does have great benefits.
SoulCyster #1 Kat Carney is commended for her vision to launch this website & share her story. It has, is, & will continue to be a God-send. Blessings to Ms. Kat.
I'll keep you Ladies updated on my facial hair timeline. I think about it & rub my chin & touch my cheeks & just grin like an idiot. There's still hair, but it's like it decided to give me a much needed vacation. Yes, Thank You, GOD!!!!

Friend,
Hi Friend, I understand about the price of Vaniqua. My primary doc has offered to prescribe it, but $50 for a 4 oz tube for something that may work, while still using the same hair removal methods seem redundant to me. I want the hair gone, gone, gone....
I started taking saw palmetto in early March 2003, for a month, then I became discouraged about the whole facial hair thing. Though about joining the circus & being the best darn bearded lady the world has ever seen. Kidding. But aafter, being off it for 3 weeks, I realized it was doing something, b/c the beard was frightening.
Currently, I'm taking Nature's Valley Standardized Herbal Extract 160mg concentrate 2x day. It's a tablet or softgel, in the health food stores, but I just bought mine at either local Wal-Mart or Albertson's Pharmacy. It states it for men's prostate health, but many Cysters before me have found that it greatly reduces facial hair/ increase scalp hair. It has helped many, but also, many Cysters haven't seen any difference. I pray you see an immediate difference. For me, it took a few months.
I believe Maureen77 has a link about saw palmetto in her signature line. She stopped taking it when she became pregnant. Do a search and you will find loads of info about saw palmetto & read what other Cysters experiences about it.
Sorry, so long. Please forgive me.

Later Days,
Linda

Bookworms,
I noticed your signature line states you are a newlywed. My birthday is April 12th. What a great day to wed. Blessings to you & your hubby for a joyous, blessed marriage in the Name of Jesus Christ.
