I am 29 and my doctor says I have pcos. I have been having a period since the 11th September and it has not let up at all andd has no signs of doing so.

She sent me home with bcp Levlen Ed. To be honest bcp's scare the life out of me. I have hirsuitism and acne and I am worried this will make it worse. I also am scared of nausea etc. I am heavy smoker but am giving them up on monday as I finally got huby to join me in quitting so I will not be starting the pill until then.

Has anyone taken Levlen Ed that could share ther experiences or does anyone know anything about it?

Levlen appears to be a higher dose version of Alesse... and it's one of the pills made with one of the more androgenic progestins... and as such really isn't the first choice for a woman with androgen issues such as excess hair, acne, etc... Of course that said not all women do poorly on the pills they are supposed to do poorly on. From an androgen standpoint, I did WONDERFUL on Alesse, but I had breaktrhough bleeding (common with low dose pills) so I did not stay on it...
