Default LHR- What to Expect?

I have an appt to start laser next week and I'm a bit confused. They say a few days after that hair falls out? Does all the hair fall out or just the hairs that were in the active growth phase? Do you experience smooth skin afterwards or do you have to continue shaving like normal until all of your treatments are complete?

Hey there,

For me the hairs start to fall out after 7 - 10 days. Well they dont actually fall out I just give them a gentle squeeze and they pop out. Only the hair in the active growth phase will shed and I still shave everyday between treatments. After a year my skin is fairly smooth now and Im happy with the results but I still shave, because I like to feel compleatly smooth. The results vary considerably between different people and depends on what kind of machine the tech is using.

I find the upper lip is little stressful because there are so many nerve endings there. I get the tech to start with that area first and then I can relax for the rest.

Good luck

Kel

My hair also falls out 7 to 10 days later or I pop it out (good description). My upper lip was also the most painful. My doc uses ultra sound gel that has been in the fridge. She applies it then begins the treatment. This last time they also had a 2nd person in there and she had a hose that blew cold air in additon to the cold gel.

For me it has been so worth it, I don't have to shave again for almost 6 weeks, and I when I do I go back for more treatment.

Good luck to you.

I clicked on a link that someone had in the thread about laser inforamtion and on the laser site, some the laser techs were saying LHR on a woman 's face should not be done becuase it actually increases other areas on the face and neck to grow, due to follicle stimulation!! i have gotten four treatments and now i have to say, the hair growth has not gotten any better, actually worse, but my hormones were not leveled then..i hope that is was due to theat and not to the LHR!!!

did anyone find this to be true???

My hairs never really actually fell out. I had to sit down and pull them out. (they just slid out, no pain, couldn't feel it) That was after about 3-4 days after the treatment for me. Only the active hairs that were treated fall out. and you'll find that not all of them will. Sometimes it takes several treatments.

I took about 5 weeks in between my treatments. I would wax after about 3 weeks and then shave the night before my appointment. But my hair growth wasn't too bad. I'd just follow your normal hair removal regiment but the week before your appointment let the hair grow out some so you have something to shave right before your appointment.
