Unhappy Lichen Simplex Chronicus

Anyone else have experience with it, especially in the girly part area? I need some help.

I have been dealing with it for over a year and it has never gotten 100% better. I itch most of the time and even am in pain with the itching. It is keeping me from having a "normal" life. I can't even go anywhere for fear that I will be in pain before I can have any fun. I have not been to see friends since October. Most of the time I am home and for a good portion of the winter, I sat on ice to relieve the pain.

What it is.... LSC is a form of Eczema. It usually only happens in one area at a time. It is brought on by stress and creates depression. Scratching is the worst thing to do. It won't heal if scratching is continued. A topical steriod, anti-depression med, and pain relief combined is the treatment. Sometimes counseling is also needed. Though I am not sure why the counseling as it is to tell us how important it is to not scratch. Like we don't already know that.

Here is my problem. I have been on the treatment. I have not been scratching. My stress level is not going down and therefore the treatment is not working as well as I would like for it to. I am calling the derm today to talk to them, but what hoping that someone here might have experience with this. I want to get it healed, just feel like I take one step forward and 2-3 back. I could deal with it anywhere else on my body, but having it in the most sensitive place is the worst.
