Default licorice + peony = AF and less facial hair

Hey everyone

I have had my first post partum AF at 13 months (probaby due to the fact I am breast feeeding full time) but I believe the peony + licorice made me ovulate regardless! and it has also reduced all my body hair and facial hair so far....

If you don't mind me asking, how long did you take the licorice and peony? In what form do you take it?

My acupuncturist prescribes Chinese herbs to me, and licorice root and peony are in the (long) ingredients list. I've been on it for less than two weeks and I'm wondering how long I'll have to drink this tea!

Pearl

Wow! Thats great it worked for you.

Is this peony root or flower? Could you please tell us what brand and dosage you are taking? Did you have any side effects? I tried saw palmetto and wild yam and it had no effect on me. Maybe this combination will help. Sorry to ask so many questions.

Hey ladies! Anything to help I know how awful (and soooo hard to get rid of facial and body hair is )

Well I have been working up my dose of licorice as I am sensitiebv to side effects of insomnia and excitability on it, so I started on 1400mg and within 8 weeks I have worked my way up to 2500mg, I am immune to the side effects now. peony didnt give me any side effects.

I take an equal measure of both, 2500mg.

I will be making my way up to 5000mg soon and that is the recomended dose for PCOS.

It took over 6 weeks to see results.

My arm hairs were the first to stop growing. My chin hairs are still there ofcourse but grow a lot slower. One side has gone thinner. My tummy hair is disapearing. My hair is VERY resistant to all treatments. I think I need to give it around 6 or more months to see real results and all hair to dissapear. I like to be realistic in all cases.

In a 1982 trial, eight anovulatory infertile women with elevated testosterone were investigated for lowering serum testosterone levels and inducing regular ovulation by a formula containing equal parts of peony root (Paeonia lactiflora) and licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra). Serum testosterone levels were significantly lowered in seven patients by doses of 5-10 grams of the combination daily for 2-8 weeks. Six of seven patients ovulated regularly and two of six patients conceived (Yaginuma et al.)
I got this from an article posted by our wonderful Kat back in 2006. Here's the link to full article:

I think I ovulated on day 19 as I had spotting EWCM and ovarian pain, now my mucus has dried up and my temp has gone up although I am not steadily temping with my lady comp due to being away from home, which would make my cycle 33 days again, not bad considering Im still BreastFeeding!

I'm new to this so forgive my ignorance! but, if I want to start taking licorice and peony where could I go to get it (online or in a store?) and how much would be good to start off with? I have no problems with ovulation, but my hirutism is excessive; some of the worst my doctor has seen so that's what I would be taking the herbs for.

If your herbalist doesnt sell licorice & peony blend I have found some pills online that have both peony licorice and lots of other very beneficial ingredients for pcosers trying to conceive or get rid of facial hair the product is this

Does this get rid of hair that is already there? or does it merely stop more from growing in.

Default So hopeful!

I'm taking licorice at night to ease my leg twitches but was hoping that once that bottle is gone I could order the stuff you linked to to control body hair. Did you see a reduction in the amount of leg shaving you have to do, and if you don't mind me asking, did it reduce hair on the butt-area?
