licorice root to boost and to bring down oestrogen levels
hi , I have been reading up on Licorice root , and it is a hormonal adaptogenic , so , if your oestrogen is too low , it will increase your oestrogen levels and similarly, if oestrogen is too high , it will bring it down ! Ive only jusst started taking it , as my levels are at 73% , apparently a woman whom has gone thru the menopause has a higher oestrogen level than this . I also tke saw palmetto , multivitamin and hemp oil, and chromium and follow a low carb. diet. has anyone else any advice for very low oestrogen levels?
Hi, I haven't really got any good advice, but I did read somewhere that saw palmetto is an anti-estrogen as well as an anti-androgen, so you might want to stop taking the saw palmetto?
I've heard that false unicorn root helps to increase estrogen, and what about soy?

That's good to know seeing as I drink tea everyday with Licorice root in it

I've also started taking Licorice Root - Linda, AKA "LP" was kind enough to inform me that it shouldn't be taken long term, she takes it 9 days before her cycle. I looked it up
here: Gale Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine and found this information. Thank you Linda!
Precautions
Avoid prolonged use of licorice in large doses. This herbal remedy should be used for no longer than four to six weeks without medical advice. Pregnant women should not use the herb. Persons with high blood pressure or kidney disease should not use licorice, nor should those with cholestatic liver disorders or cirrhosis.
look into phytoestrogens. they raise low estrogen levels and decrease high ones. it works with whatever estrogen problem you may have because its an adaptive herb and there are many kinds
