Default Life after Laparoscopy

For everyone who has gone through this procedure before, how soon were you able to return to your normal active activities? I miss playing golf, especially since we have a week here of 70 degree weather in december (odd), but was told that I cannot twist due to healing incision points. I also want to start running again, etc.

I forgot to ask my gyno at my post op. How soon after were you ladies able to do highly physical activites?

Thumbs up

Hi,

It took about a week in a half to fully recover for the surgery. Your navel will hurt for a while but I was back to myself in about a week. I hope this helps you out. After the lap my periods became regular. They told me that I have first stages of endo so I'm glad they were able to clear up the endo and clear up the cyst on my ovaries.

Well it took me a week before I even wanted to do anything. Dr told me it was okay to lift a baby ( work as a nanny) after a week. So I am sure you'd be ok to go play some golf!

Weather is beautiful here in FL atm also

It was about ten days before life was back to normal for me, but I was able to return to work light duty just two days after the procedure.

I've had 7 laps and each time I healed differently... I would say the average was about 2 weeks until I could resume normal activity without consequence, but longer to resume working out, heavy lifting, etc. I've also had different incisions. The ones I had that were just naval and bikini area healed slower than the ones where I had incisions in the upper ab area. The key is to listen to your body and your doctor. There have been times that I have hindered my recovery by doing too much. I found the more I moved, the better I felt, as long as I wasn't exerting myself too much. Best of luck to you, you should be feeling back to normal soon!!
