Post Life insurance/assurance

It's been forever since I last posted, but hope everyone is well

Do any of you have any pointers for getting life insurance (for a mortgage), but without having to go through the whole medical thing? I'm abit worried that I will be pulled up on my weight, even though I don't smoke or drink and answered no to all of the medical questions (except about relatives - my dad has had a stroke). I've got an irrational phobia about doctors in general anyway, without having to go through something which *I* feel with be humilliating and feeling more like a freak than I already do! I'm sure some of you out there are exactly the same!

Can anyone relate to what I'm saying and offer their thoughts and advice? I'm scared stiff !!

ive been through the same thing a couple of years back. It was a slight problem for me becuase I was overweight, had a past history of asthma and was at that point scuba diving! My father had also a history of a brain haemorrhage. And I have a family history of strokes as well.

Anyway, short story long, the insurance company (at their expense) asked me to go to a private medical doctor (I could choose from their list someone nearby/convenient) and get a once over. It was fine, no problems. I knew myself I was actually quite fit and didn't have any problems at all.

Its just insurance companies trying to make certain they are backing a sure thing!!

Hope this helps.

Insurance companies don't you just love them...and I work for one..but we mainly deal with the savings side of things......I have gone through the life cover thingy for my mortgage. Was sent to the doctors for a medical, I had no problems even though I am overweight, but I go to the gym, don't smoke hardly drink...don't worry about it too much it is just the company covering themselves and the medical was so quick, I nearly asked the doctor if that was it as he just did basic checks and questions...easy money am in the wrong job! It really scared me when I was going through it all, it was bad enough getting the, mortgage....responsibility, but the with rents so stupid (especially in this town) it was the best option.

Good luck you will be fine...
