lost my job on friday...downsizing is what they claim. but to be honest it doesnt make me feel any better about the whole situation.
i have a new baby, and finally had settled into financial stablilty..
( i wasnt in debt or too rich)
yup, when the ****storm hits, it hits good...
although i have decided ( actually discussed with thewife is more like it) that perhaps i might like to go back to university or college and gain a better foothold in life.
isnt it funnyhow something like this can change yer outcome in life...6 months ago i would have not even thought about going back to school, now its beginning to look like a very good option.
ah well...

Meatloaf also said "I can see paradise by the dashboard light!" Maybe he's trying to tell us to enjoy every moment. Sorry, it's a stretch, I know......
Anyway, while you have the lemons, make lemonaid! College sounds fantastic if you can swing it. What a great lesson for you little girl to learn, that daddy doesn't give up!
Good luck what every you decide to do and keep us posted. So sorry you lost your job.

WOW Mike. Sorry to hear that. I remember when my Mike lost his job. His factory closed down. It was an aweful time. Luckily he wasn't out of work for long. Good idea going back to school. It's a mazing how much better of a job you can get when you've been to college. Good luck and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Been there and writing the book. I can sympsathize. It is incredibly frustrating. We are getting married in August and we have both lost jobs since January. As you know employment insurance does not cut it. Fortunately I am on severanve until July, but we have lost half of my DF's income. It is a struggle, but we must keep our spirits up and forge on. In our cases we believe that everything happens for a reason and that every door that closes leads to the opening of a new one.
My ex boss let me go about a month ago knowing that Lisa and I had a baby on the way. Couldn't believe it.
I thought about, or should I say dreamed of going back to school but didn't know how I could pull it off since Lisa had just stopped working because of pregnancy related reasons. So I had to find another job that will probably keep me in my rut.
If you and Candice can swing it.... get your butt in school!!
I have "opportunity envy"!!!!

Man, that really bites.
Guess there's no "really good" time to lose your job, but this is definitely not one, huh ?!?
Yeah, if y'all can somehow swing the college thing, I'd go for it.
It's never to late to finish your education...and who knows what kind of doors it could open up for you.
I know I'd like to go back & finish mine, if we could afford it...but until we have the winning lottery ticket, I guess I'll just have to wait.
Good luck, hope it all works out ok !!!
