Question The life of a PCOS cyster...

Hi everyone,

Thought I would drop in. I am a bi cyster who is so happy that I found this forum. My question is.. will I be alone forever?

I've got the facial hair and the extra added weight. My self esteem is crappy and I feel too yucky to be in a relationship. I am literally afraid to be in a relationship because of my outward appearance. So afraid to have someone touch my face with the stubble. So afraid of the acne on my body being seen. I hate PCOS so much. Will this ever end??

Keep your chin up... It will get better. I found that things started turning around once I was put on Glucophage. The depression is gone, and I don't sleep hardly at all during the day now. I have lost over 50 pounds by following a high protein/LC diet & exercising 5x a week. I have had 7 periods in a row! Compared to 3 a year I think that is a miracle in it'self! Just curious as to why you aren't on Glucophage already?

Don't let some hair on your chin keep you from thinking you're beautiful. I have a patch of hair on mine that I refused to shave off because of what that meant (what am I? a man? I shave my chin?). I finally just did it and was so happy to see that I didn't suddenly sprout a beard and turn into a guy (the things we delude ourselves with!).

As far as the weight, I love a woman with curves and weight far more than a woman with a hard body that can feel like plastic at times.

A LOT of us more butch dykes like that. You'll be fine

Peace.

Thanks for the support. I am not on glucophage yet because I just got diagnosed and am still in the intro process. I had a uterine biposy last week. I go back to my doc next week for the results and then we are going to discuss tx options. I hope that includes glucophage.

I try to be positive but there are so many people out there who are so into looks. I mean I'm not terrible looking or anything. But the symptoms of PCOS really play on you self esteem.

Waiting for things to get better..LOL!

Default Don't worry....

I was in your shoes a few years ago. All the symptoms even the enlarged "part" heh (which still causes some self consiousness) But once I was put on metformin, my life changed! I lost 75 lbs over two years just by being careful w/ portion sizes and watching what I ate. I started excersing during that time also which i am sure helped a lot.

Once my hormones were look good, (with the help of met, alesse and spiro) I decided on lazer treatement for my face.

It took some time. Things won't happen overnight but keep your chin up cause changes will occur once your med solution is found (you have to keep in mind that it may take some time for you to find the right combo of meds that works with the least amount of side effects)...

As for finding that special someone, s/he will come along. Have you ever thought of participating in BBW (big beautiful women) forums? Lots of men and women in there who love the extra weight and looks. Don't stop looking... he/she is out there.... who knows.. maybe you'll find a woman with PCOS too! (my ex girlfriend has pcos also) ...
