Just wanted to get a recent show of hands of everyone who's used Lifetime, or knows someone who did, or who thought about using them...whatever your experience, post it here, please.
I've been considering Lifetime, because their fees are so much lower than international, and most of the children are infants. I am just a little bit leery about the fact that you pay the fees up front, and then you may wait for as long as 2 years.

I had looked into Lifetime Adoptions when we were first researching all our options, and I didn't like that the fees were all paid up front and if you didn't adopt within their two year time frame, you would have to pay the fees all over again. They claim that if you follow their "program" that this won't happen. A close friend of mine has chosen Lifetime but they won't be starting the process until next year. Sorry I can't be of more help to you!

I have never heard of Lifetime until now so I can not give you feedback, but you might want to ask your question to a larger adoption board. The Adoption Option is a relatively small community here on SC compared to other sites. I would suggest going to http://forums.adoption.com and posting in the Getting Started forum... http://forums.adoption.com/forumdisplay.php?f=411
Good Luck with your decision.

I've read some about them on another board and the only complaint I read was that they only work with married Christian couples. I kind of remember reading something about their requiring a letter from your pastor too, but don't quote me on that one.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies. I haven't been able to find out much more than what you ladies have told me. I will check out the other boards though.
Lifetime works with only American citizens, as far as I know. They work with birthmothers in the US and help them match up with adoptive couples. Their website is here: www.lifetimeadoption.com

I am fixing to read up on this one for you and ask around at other agencies that I know.. Email me. we3jeans@bellsouth.net Put Soulcysters in the subject, so I'll know who it's from...
Just an update but somebody did tell me and this is a direct quote... "run don't walk" from them. Having said that...I've heard some REALLY positive things about Ellen Rosemann (sp?) at http://www.coopadopt.com/
Supposedly she is VERY ethical and knowledgeable. She's in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hope this is helpful. Feel free to email me if you'd like and I can see if the person that told me that would mind explaining to you further why she thinks running is neccessary. LOL
