Hi all.... I am a 37 year old mom of two. I am not positive I have PCOS, but I do have a few of the symptoms. My story is that I have regular periods and I had no problems conceiving. I was always told I was a heavy ovulator, meaning that during my ovulation time each month, I had a cervical mucous discharge that basically would let me know when I ovulated each month. Well, after my second daughter, I noticed the the discharge happened all the time and changed through my cycle. I talked with my Gyn. about it and she said that my hormones no doubt have changed and some women have this occurr after having children. Lucky me! Well, I noticed about a year ago I would get these what I thought were bug bites on my back. I also noticed red bumps on the back of my arms and legs. I went to my GP and he gave me antibiotics for it...the bumps on my legs continued. Fastforward to today..... this summer I noticed I would feel bloated and gassy. I also noticed I had more facial hair and acne on my face. I have also had thinning hair for the last 3 years, but this summer I really started to see it increase. I did a search for hair loss in women and found info about PCOS. After reading, it was then that I noticed I do have more hair on my breast, belly, and pelvic area. I find I have to shave my legs more often to keep them smooth. I also have to shave on my face to rid the look of sideburns and around my jawline. I have also noticed that my upper arms/upper legs/and belly are getting flabbier/thicker. I called and got an appt. with my gyn. I told her about the hair and how I have mood swings. She did a pelvic exam and ordered some hormone testing. She didn't feel anything in the exam but ordered an ultrasound. I got my test results on Fri....elevated DHEAS - .....testosterone was high, thryroid normal. I don't have diabetes, I have regular periods. I do have hair growth, hair loss, somewhat deepening of my voice (or I just think it is deepening..)body thickening in arms/legs, overweight, acne, mood swings. I am scared about what might turn up on the ultrasound....could I have a tumor? Cancer? It is frightening. I don't know if PCOS could be my problem. I don't have insulin resistance, good blood pressure and cholesterol. I just had a physical in May and everything came by fine. I want to know what is going on but I'm afraid of the result. I am a bit of a hypochondriac and have always had a fear of cervical cancer...my aunt died from ovarian cancer when she was in her 60s.

So my symptoms:
Constipation
Back Pain
Pelvic Twinges
Gassy/Bloated comes and goes but more likely before cycle
acne on face/back of arms and legs/back
facial hair growth
body hair growth on legs/underarms accelerated
hair thinning / receding hair line somewhat
thickening of arms/stomach/upper thighs -- Weight has been pretty consistent the last two-three years.

Just thought I'd share to see if anyone else had experienced similar symptoms. Sorry this is so long.
