I was just wondering if any of u have linea nigra on your abdomen? I took a pregnancy test at home and it came out negative. But I am having lot of pain and tenderness in my breasts and I just noticed this vertical line (linea nigra) on my abdomen. Is tthis a symptom of PCOS only?

I've never heard of linea nigra in non-pregnant women. I googled it and I found this.....CLICK.

It makes sense a little if you think about it. The line is caused by hormones and we all know hormones fluctuate during AF!

This is going to sound crazy but when I was pregnant I could never really see it, even at the end of the pregnancy. But after having the baby, I could see it, and I can still see it faintly. Weird.

Definitely hormonal. Mine showed up around 8 months, but I'm sure it depends on the individual. Darker skinned people have it more pronounced usually.

hi there...
I have this linea nigra too..infact i had this in most of my life..even when i was not sexually active...seem like it has to do with increased estrogen levels n yeah i have some other discolorations (AN) too..my underarms face..its a rare condotion..hope this helps
I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant and I don't have it (yet). I think everyone is correct here...guessing it varies from person to person and it has a lot to do with hormones.
