I was horrified to read in the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute wedbsite "Recently, researchers have seen a higher rate of polycystic ovarian disorder women who take valproate (Depakote) for another disorder (seizure disorder)."

I already had PCOS at 9 yrs. old but I am wondering if taking Depokote in my 20's made my condition worse. I was prescribed the medication after a car accident. I hit my head on the steering wheel and a few years later was diagnosed with temporary epilepsy. Anyone else have information on this?

I don't have any answers for you, but i would suggest you talk to your doctor about this.
