i was diagnoised with pcos after the birth of my second child.auto-immune conditions run in both sides of my family.both grandmothers have RA,my maternal grandmother had an overactive thyroid that turned underactive.my grandfather had lupus, sjorgen syndrome and was still being tested for other auto-immune conditions before he died.my mother has scleroderma, psorisis and ibs.four women in my family have pcos and chronic migranes.
i my self am currently being tested for RA.
i believe 100% that pcos has auto-immune origins.it's such a shame that most medical professionals refuse to see the link.it would save people a lot of pain in the long run if they did.
and sorry for the spelling,it was worse than usual!
I have fibromyalgia and type 1 diabetes (also autoimmune) and PCOS.

dr just told me i have fibromyalgia too! there has to be a connection! i know there is a link somehow with endo and fibro (I have endo too). I think it may just be common to have the other if you have one... so maybe Pcos is like that too.
I have IGA Nephropathy, and autoimmune disorder of the kidneys that causes them to.. well.. fail. I had never thought about a possible connection, but it seems a little too coincidental....

I was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago and then with Lupus a year later. They have got to be connected! They doctors don't know which to treat first or how to treat the combination.
