Me--PCOS/IR, positive ANA
Brother--elevated estrogen, low testosterone (on Clomid)
Mom--pituitary tumor, rheumatory arthritis, positive ANA
Mom's older sister--thyroid problems and cancer (both she and my mom have had to have D&C's due to abnormal bleeding
Maternal grandmother--Multiple Sclerosis
Paternal grandmother--psoriasis and probable PCOS/IR maybe?
Diabetes on both sides of family but only in MEN. Many men on both sides have abdominal fat.
So I'm screwed all around.

I have found a remission state from the fybromyalgia (which took years to diagnose) with mannatech ( www.mannatech.com) vitamins & Bowen Therapy a deep tissue massage and I read a book by Devin Starnyl MD that helped me a lot if you do a google she has a website too!
Let me know if you need anything! hope tis helps!

So off I go to see a Rheumatologist. I'll update when they figure out what the heck is wrong with me this time. (Having nonstop headaches and joint problems.) |

My Rheumatologist is thinking it's Lupus too, but I won't know more until my next appointment on Oct 4th... getting a diagnosis is such a pain in the neck!! I have 6-7 of the 11 criteria, and you only need 4 for a diagnosis. But it depends on the weight of those criteria, and if they can be explained by anything else. It's hard to know where PCOS ends and Lupus begins. I'll update more after my next appointment. Hope everyone else is hanging in there as well!

Here i go :
Its been in the works for years now but my rhumitoligst, internist, endo, RE, and gyn are all trying to figure out what the heck my issue is. They lean to SLE ( lupus ) . I have been ttc 5 + years now and when i got my BFP, i was on low dose prednisone for a flair up!!! This led us to beleive that all this time my immunes were killing things off. Well i lost the babies as soon as i stopped prednisone, and then tested for all the issues..
I come up with this
Rh + , ANA ++, ATA + , APA + .
Im awaiting new results currently and am seeing my new dr soon. I will do another IVF, but this time it will be followed with heperin, asprin and high dose prednisone through pg.
I also will be having a IVIg.. ( intravenious immunglobulin ( sp ) ) .
we shall see how things turn out!
I have had all these problems a long time.. and just want to get somewhere.
I have found several articles that suggest pco is deffinatly immune related!!
keep searching girls!!

It makes sense if there's a connection. What's thought to be a small problem oftentimes is much bigger, affecting far more than one would anticipate.

There are also a BUNCH of cysters that have other autoimmune disorders as well so there has to be a connection somewhere!
I've been tested for most and everything has come back normal so far but we didn't get really deep in to immune testing.
