Default list of bad met food combos

i was hoping u guys had a list of foods to avoid and maybe foods that help.
i read some posts saying to avoid salad but i thought i would try it cause eating salads are healthy right... and then i had some BAD s/e last night. the first day i took it just a little diareah at night nothing major but last night after the salad - whoa...bad news!
i called my doc and asked and they said tto take anti diareaha med but didn;t have a list of foods... so i was hoping u ladies might.
so far the only thing on mine is salad sad, cause i like to have one salad every day.
tia!

I've heard that fried foods can cause tummy upset on met. I just started taking 1000mg/day and notice that after eating a few tortilla chips at lunch, I'm feeling a little uncomfortable.

salad and eggs for me. If I eat them for 2 meals in one day, I'm in for it.

Salad, apples, raisins and anything with a lot of sugar. I think that it's probably a good idea to avoid any vegetables that are nothing but fiber because it just FLIES right through you. ...and Immodium AD is your friend, always.

Immodium is definitely your friend!!! I've been on met since Dec. and have, for the most part, figured out what I can and cannot eat. HOWEVER...I still carry around Immodium just in case! During the first few weeks, I totally avoided carbs/starches because the s/e were awful (meat for dinner, immodium for dessert!). Now, though, I can eat carbs in moderation. No eggs. Limited dairy products. No greasy foods. Lots of water.

Why does Met cause this unwanted s/e and with only eating certain foods? I have been on met for half a year now and I havnt noticed any s/e that are really worth mentioning except for some weight loss but thats a great s/e in my book, lol. Im increasing my fiber content in every meal via flax seeds and buying foods with high fiber content. Also stevia the sweetner I use is high in fiber. Apples are my fav quick snack. I have to say I use the BR often but not at an uncomforitable level. I think im my body is functioning how its supposed given the amount of fiber I consume. However the one s/e I do hate is the gas Met gives me. LOL ne ways......(my poor hubby)

Overall Ive been pleased with my experience while starting Met. My aggitation/anxiety episodes are a very rare occurance now. That in itself is a wonderful blessing. LOL

You keep mentioning lettuce. I haven't tried any yet while on the Met but is it a bad idea? I see it repeated everywhere that it's not good to eat while taking met. Is it all lettuce or just iceburg? I really enjoy tacos and salads and have been afraid to eat any since I keep hearing about lettuce.

Oh, lettuce was a disaster for me. I literally had to stop off to go to the loo on the way to work - getting off the tube for that reason is just hideous.

I avoid salads now, and they were my favourite things ever :-(

My s/e's seem to change on a weekly basis...so it's more trial and error!

I had a greasy philly cheesesteak for lunch yesterday (when I took my met) and was seriously paying for it all day!! I find that if I have a small breakfast and take my met then I feel much better. I start taking 1000mg on Tuesday, so we will see how I do.
