I've been eating salads every day since met and so far they haven't bothered me. Maybe it just depends on the person (?). If I eat anything with simple carbs/sugars (aside from fruit) I feel naseaus. Tortilla chips are the biggest one that I've noticed. I've read that if you combine carbs with fat (apples and peanut butter, pasta and alfredo sauce, etc) that it helps. I eat apples with peanut butter for breakfast and no problems.

Anything but grilled chicken... and even then that can get me... I have to time when I eat other wise it is not good... can't leave the house for fear of no potty or just embrassing myself in a public potty..... I am also on Byetta.... and that makes me hella ill if I wait too long between shooting up and eating....

If I eat lettuce, and high sugar foods I pay for it too.

I haven't had any problems on met or byetta. The only time I ever got really sick was a breakfast burrito that was way too much food!!! I do go more often. Goldenflye: how are you doing on byetta?

Fries + Met = BAD! I made the mistake of eating some when my dosage was doubled and I was so sick for 2 days

Nothings really all that bad...
I mean I think a big reason for the metformin is to get you to make choices so you don't "test" things and eat those foods...

Potatoes, Pasta with any cheese or white sauce, white pasta with tomato sauce...

Pretty much metformin only messes with me if it's a high carb food, period.

Which as PCOSers.. we're not supposed to be eating anyways...

Lettuce doesn't bother me.. and if lettuce IS bothering you.. it's usually due to some other kind of IBS.. and not the Metformin.. or maybe the dressing you're putting on the lettuce... Alot of dressings are either high sugar.. or intensely high fat...

The only real significant problem I've had has been with Pizza Hut pizza. I can eat other brands, but Pizza Hut pizza and met don't mix! Which is a shame because I love their thin crust pizza.

Bite your tongue. I live for Pizza Hut's BBQ chicken stuffed crust.

I haven't had a problem yet. I hope there is not a first time.

I take my two pills at night and seem to make the side effects less. I notice once I pass the pills early in the morning I can eat pretty much whatever. The rest of the day I feel fine. Salad is the only hard one for me but if I have it for dinner I pass it in the morning. When I had my gallbladder out two years ago almost everything effected me but it was a combi of the the gallbladder and met. It lasted a few months.

Salads don't bother me too much on the Met, it seems to vary with the day. Almost any food can give me diarrhea it seems. Other than having that every morning, I have it sometimes after very healthy, low carb foods, and sometimes after the stuff that would give me diarrhea anyway.

Does anybody else have strong aversions to foods? I don't crave sugar anymore...what a blessing! But, I can eat almost no meat. I especially can't eat grilled chicken. I love it, but after I eat it, I vomit and vomit. I can't even think of eating most beef, especially ground. Sometimes even tofu that resembles meat makes me wanna hurl.

I've lost almost 20lbs since January. Not speedy weight loss, but I'm still pretty happy.
