This website gives a list of birth control pills that have a lesser side effect of scalp hair loss than most BCP's on the market. They can also decrease facial hair and acne. It gives a list of low androgen birth control pills in order of lowest androgens to highest as well as a list of BCP's that are likely to increase scalp hair loss.

I developed a severe allergy (rash and hives all over my body) these past two days after having starting BC less than two weeks ago. I was on the NuvaRing as I wanted to try it since I haven't been on BC in many, many years.
The reaction may have been a blessing in disguise since the Nuva Ring seems to be on the list as having the potential to increase my hair loss. Something I don't need right now.
I'm still looking to see where Yasmin and Yaz fall on the list in terms of its androgen properties. |
