Default Little moments...

Do you ever have little moments during your day that just make you smile? Tonight I was sitting here at the computer, it was about dusk, and I turned to glance out the window. I saw the fading sunlight shining through the trees, heard the crickets chirping, some birds singing, and felt a soft warm breeze blow in. Just then, a little finch flew right up to the window. It actually landed on the outside of the window, grasping the window screen with its tiny little birdie feet, and looked at me. I swear it did! A split second after that, ANOTHER finch did the exact same thing. They both chirped a few times at me and then just as quickly as they landed...flew away. It was just such a cool moment! It really touched my heart. It was almost as if it was a sign of some sort. I almost cried! Ok, I know I'm hormonal right now, but it's true!
Anything like that ever happen to you?

Default yeah, I think I inherited it...

When I was a kid, my grandfather attracted animals like crzy. He had a squirrel in the backyard that would eat out of his hand and come in the house to visit. He would sit outaide and make those "paint-by-number" things, and little birds would come and sit on his shoulder and watch him paint, or fly down and take seeds from his hand. Squirrels would crawl jup and take food from his shirt pocket. One squirrel would climb into the refrigerator and get cobs of corn they would keep for him!

Animals seem atrracted to me. Even animals that don't like other people, will come up to me and ask to be petted.

I'm not surprised you filled up, Becca, that sounds beautiful. I saw Bob Geldof being interviewed a while back and the host said, "You have a reputation gor being a grumpy old git, are you not a happy person?" Bob smiled and said something that rung so true for me, another self confessed grumpy! He said that he didn't believe being happy all the time was a natural human trait, but that he aspired to peace of mind and the occasional flash of joy that made life worthwhile.
So now I cherish my small moments of joy like yours and it's amazing how they find you when you least expect them.
When my 2 year old grandson hugs me and says "I love you, Grandma",
When my dog snuggles up to me and puts her head on my lap,
When I look out of the window and see a perfect sunset,
Anytime at all I am near trees--(they are my chicken soup for the soul!)
When a complete stranger just smiles as they pass,
When you smell flowers in the evening as you're passing someone's garden,
When you see a random act of kindness, or can perform one yourself,
When a piece of music, or poetry, or painting raises the hairs on the back of your neck.
O.K. I'm going now before I turn to complete mush.
Here's a tiny joy for all of us--
