I'm not surprised you filled up, Becca, that sounds beautiful. I saw Bob Geldof being interviewed a while back and the host said, "You have a reputation gor being a grumpy old git, are you not a happy person?" Bob smiled and said something that rung so true for me, another self confessed grumpy! He said that he didn't believe being happy all the time was a natural human trait, but that he aspired to peace of mind and the occasional flash of joy that made life worthwhile.
So now I cherish my small moments of joy like yours and it's amazing how they find you when you least expect them.
When my 2 year old grandson hugs me and says "I love you, Grandma",
When my dog snuggles up to me and puts her head on my lap,
When I look out of the window and see a perfect sunset,
Anytime at all I am near trees--(they are my chicken soup for the soul!)
When a complete stranger just smiles as they pass,
When you smell flowers in the evening as you're passing someone's garden,
When you see a random act of kindness, or can perform one yourself,
When a piece of music, or poetry, or painting raises the hairs on the back of your neck.
O.K. I'm going now before I turn to complete mush.
Here's a tiny joy for all of us--
