does anyone know any information on loestrin?

i was prescribed this bcp and am supposed to start it soon. i read once that it is for menopause which shocked me considering i'm only 21. does anyone know if that is true?

any info. or opinions would be of help

I would suggest you NOT to take this.

My doctor prescribed this for me and I was on it for over 2 years it was at the 2 year mark I started noticing odd occurances - reason for me having PCOS. This pill promotes androgen dominence in your body, I have bad hairloss, this pill is one they recommend you DO NOT take. I wish I was never given this pill because after taking it for over two years it may have been the 'helping factor' in my hairloss and androgen dominence I suffer from now.

This pill is not designed to be given to women in their 20's. I started it at 28. Please talk about other options with your gyn.
Also do a search on the web about this. If you look at any of the hairloss sites this is a pill that is not advisable.

You might not have hairloss now but you do not want to take something that may assist in increasing or allowing an androgen dominance in your system.
