Default Loestrin...help??

[color=RoyalBlue] Hello, I am currently on yasmin and have been for 6 months, I feel great taking it but I have terrible bloating through out the month and heavy bleeding and terrible acne, I have never had this many breakouts. Anyway I went to the dr today and she is putting me on Loestrin.
Can someone please guide me in finding out if this is something I should take.
I have heard yasmin is the best.
How do you like LOESTRIN??? Has it helped you...
Thanks a bunch

don't let me scare you, but the only thing i ever took that didn't make me feel like death was yasmin, although i couldn't take it either, it made me crampy and bloaty all the time. But, when i first started having problems with my periods going for wks and wks, the dr i went to put me on loestrin to stop the bleeding. it made me have real bad fevers/chills, hot flashes, vomiting, and blacking out. i only took it for like a wk and a half and had to stop. it is very, very strong, at least the one i was on, i don't know if there are different doses. the one i was on looked like something from the 70's! it was in a square little pack like yasmin, but looked pink or peach and white if i am remembering correctly. that has been back in 2000 when i took it though. if you do take it, and you start having real bad symptoms like i had, i would stop and tell the dr. i know everything reacts differently but i think with me it really threw my off balance hormones even more out of whack. Have you taken anything besides yasmin? i took quite a few trying to stop my bleeding, there are a ton out there. Good luck

Hi,

Loestrin is a great pill with little side effects. Some literature states that it's too andorgenic. NO PILL is andgrogenic REALLY. It's just the amount of estrogen vs progestin. The estrogen "mops" up the testosterone. Frankly my skin looks the best with Loestrin than any other pill - including Yasmin. Yasmin made me feel HORRIBLE too.

Hope this helps,

Anne

I've been taking Loestrin for quite a while ( a few years) with no problems. However I have taken several brands not had any trouble with any of them. I seem to have a strong stomache.
