Arrow A Lonely Place

Thank God I found this site. I thought I might be crazy or imagining things about my body. I vascillated between that and feeling like my body was betraying me pound by pound, ache by ache, symptom by agonizing symptom. No one could ever tell me what was wrong with me. I NEVER had a regular period. I have always been somewhat overweight and now I am borderline obese carrying a great deal of weight in my mid section.

My level of fatigue is sky high and I have battled with depression for many years. Everyone, including physicians had their own ideas as to what my problem was and all of these people concluded that my overall "condition" was due to weight and I simply needed to "buckle down", "have some will power" and lose some weight and all my problems would go away.

I have felt like a failure for many years in my battle of weight and felt all my physical issues were the result of weight. Until I visited a physician with extensive experience with PCOS, I thought I destroyed myself. My physician helped me to understand that PCOS was one of the root causes of my weight gain and various symptoms. My only issue is that I also suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and I am not prepared to take a gastrointestinal irritant like Metformin at 2000 MG per day as prescribed.

Weight loss seems to be the cure all. I don't know where to start. Encouragement needed...thank you for reading.

Welcome and congrats on being diagnosed, its truly a good feeling to know its not just in your head (thats how I felt...)

I take Met, so I can't suggest an alternative...but its not bad everyday or most days...but when its bad, its very very bad.

The higher the dosage for me, the worse it got.

There's a whole diet section, maybe theres some suggests there for a non-met diet.
