Mine started July 5th and hasn't stopped yet, and it's steady flow....I finally went to dr today who immediately did a pap smear, ordered blood tests/urine tests and pelvic u/s and transvaginal u/s...I am not currently on pills by choice but she told me that if the results came back normal, the only thing that will stop it is the pill..

Since May I have been bleeding off and on. I finally got the doc to put me on a BCP. For the first 2 weeks I didn't have any bleeding or even spotting. I was very happy. On that 3rd week I was hit hard and it has only stopped a few days. I have now finished my 2nd pill pack and still bleeding. My nerves are just shot. I cry all the time. I get to work and have to worry all day that I won't have any accidents. On the weekend I'm afraid to go anywhere because of the same fears. I feel for you. I wish there was something that could be a quick and easy fix. I go for an ultrasound on Thursday, just had a pap and it was normal so have no idea why things are still not going well. Anyone else have suggestions on what worked for them?

I had the same symptoms in the past. My doctors put me on a 10 day cycle of progesterone. That stopped the flow and then about a week later started another "normal" flow. That one lasted only about 5 days and then I was back to "normal". I have to do that about every 2 years.... kind of like a reset button I guess.

The longest I've went is 6 months of bleeding. The doctors (of which I saw several during this time) didn't seem concerned and only offered progesterone pills. I don't like taking hormones so I just waited it out and it finally went away on its own.

I had my ultrasound and no fibroids, polyps, lining is showing normal now. The tech is thinking the bcp is what is throwing me off. I haven't had any bleeding since Wednesday so I'm hoping things are finally on track. I am starting a new relationship and the last thing I need is bleeding for weeks on end. Thanks to those that posted what their docs have done. I'll keep that in mind.

I was bleeding for about 120 days. I knew something was wrong with me so I kept putting off the dr but finally I was sick of it and went it. This was when I was diagnosed with PCOS and it took about 3-4 weeks of BCP's for it to stop. I stayed on the BCP's for about 3 months and then started TTC. Period's have been semi normal since then with no long bleeds. It's been over 2 years.

Hello my name is shawna and i have been dealing with this now since january and with no answers as to why this is happening. I first went to the emergency room as i was approaching my third month of non stop bleeding while there i received a pregnancy test that was negative and the response that they couldnt do anything and would need to wait it out. Unhappy with the treatment i recieved i went to one of the local clinics (no health insurance) and was seen by a really nice lady who did a pap which came back normal and we discussed that i would need a ultra sound to check for cysts and such, So back to the hospital i went. The ultrasound came back normal and i was given the names of a few "womens doctors" so then back to the rat race of phone calls and waiting for an appointment to become available. So at the very end of april i went to see my new doctor with new high hopes. She said it was because i was overweight! Which i have been overweight for the better part of my life and had never experienced this problem before. She also thought that i may be producing more male hormones than anything else so she ordered blood tests which came back normal. So now still with no answers she prescribed a 10 progesterone treatment which stopped the period for 3 days then induced a normal period. So things were looking up. But then starting in june i went 61 days with no period at all which was a blessing but still a problem and now im back to the never ending cycle with large clots. So all in all if you count it up i have been bleeding for 6 months out of this year!!!! Im tired, depressed and seriously need answers. I recently went back to the ER and sat on the edge of the bed in a gown for 45 mins. bleeding waiting to be seen before i got so irritated and left. I now have another apt with yet a different doctor hoping for answers. If there is ANYONE out there that has any insight it would be much appreciated. Sorry it was so long!

I'd have heavy bleeds and then go months with nothing, but when I bled heavy for 2 full months DBF convinced me to go to the dr. She put me on 4 BCP a day to stop the bleeding and sent me for an ultrasound and 2 days later I was having surgery to remove a 6cm cyst. Ended up losing my ovary as well. That was in July. It took 6 weeks before I started again but it was only a week for bleeding! Dr started me on Yaz and this week I started the placebo pills, but still haven't had a cycle. Don't know if I should worry or not. I'm just so tired of being sick.

tgoddess and tehghettopirate,

Hang in there, please! Wishing I had answers for you.

Just know that you're not alone. I know how awful it feels to not get the right treatment, still be be sick and scared (and pissed), and wonder if you'll ever feel better.

Keep looking for answers. You are certainly worth it.

I can sympathize with everything being said. I had a non stop crying session at work 2 weeks ago. My boss ended up sending me home because I too am just tired of being sick and never knowing when things are going to go bad. I am just thankful that someone out there knows I'm not crazy for all that I have been dealing with.
