Default Long cycle blues

I have been on Met 1500 for 8 months. I am a thin cyster, not IR.
my cycles really haven't improved since starting Met and it's making me a little nuts. I seem to O every cycle but late in the cycle. My cycles have ranged from 36-43 days. I have not been able to get pregnant for two years and just don'y know what to do. Maybe add clomid.....
How do I make these cycles shorter???!

Hi Melissa,
I'm in a similar situation as you... however, I've not had ANY cycle at all since the birth of my sun, 20 and a half months ago...

i'm been on met for about 2 months no... and it doesn't seem to be doing a thing! i have an appt with my RE this monday and just can't WAIT to see what new thing he will give me to begin fixing this.

hopefully I will be able to pass on some good info to you then

by the way, where in NYC are you ? I grew up around the area and spent many years ( college and afterwards) in the city..

boy do I miss it sometimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for replying.
I did wonder about upping the dose to 2000. How do I know if it's working? My RE at one point said that 1500 was my dose but I'm not sure what she based that on. I don't know if she'll consent to upping the dose but I'll suggest it...

Anyone non IR cysters out there have better luck with 2000mg??

Default long cycle

I am a overweight cyster and IR.I have been on 2000mg Met since last August.Ever since I started things are different every month.Sometimes it is only 5 days other times it is longer. The Dr also put me on Pogestereone to regulate me since because of health reasons I can not take BC.This month my flow has been horrible.I am now on day 15 and it has been a heavy flow the whole time.My husband said he cant believe I am still going with all the blood loss I have had.Poor guy is also sexually frustrated hehe.Anyway I am going to a new dr on tuesday since I just moved to see if I can get a recomendation to a endo.I am so tred of this problem plus my weight.I have read so much about metformin and wonder if this is the drug for me.I just wanted to let you know you are not he only one out there.
