Default Long term use of drugs for pcos ???

Hi, I'm new here and I was just wondering... what works best for those of you who are not trying to get pregnant? Glucophage worked to get me pregnant, but I think I was told that it's not for long term use. I want to try to control some of my pcos symptoms (acne, slightly overweight, abnormal cycles) but my doctor has never suggested anything. I know I need to talk to him again. I was thinking about going back on the bcp but I don't know. I'm 28 and was diagnosed in 2001. Thanks! Leanne

My doctor told me I could stay on glucophage - metformin - and yasmin birth control to control pcos symptoms forever! I have an ovarian cancer family history--doc wants me on bc pills forever -or until menopause, anyway - she says it is a good idea for me!
