Unhappy Longest Time Without Period???

What is the longest you've went with a period without being pregnant? Has it being months, years? Has anybody had fewer than 12 periods in several years?

The longest that I have gone without a period is probably over a year. I am 27 now and I started my period when I was thirteen. I would say that I have had less than 20 periods in my life!!!

Not counting my earlier teenage years (because I don't remember), the longest I've gone is 7 months. But off BCP I routinely have years where I only get it every 3-4 months, and when it comes it's a doozie, lasts 3 weeks, tototally unpredicitable.

The longest I've gone is 4 months, and that's been 2 times due to uterine polyps. When I skip that long, I know something is growing!

I started my period at age 13 and since then I have been irregular. Maybe one every 3 to 4 months. While on depo I went over 1 1/2 years without a cycle. BCP is the only thing that makes me regular. Stopped taking those in January and haven't had a cycle sicne 1/05.

When I was around 25 I had my tubes tied. After that is when my periods became very irregular and pretty soon, non existant. For years, I might have had 1 a year. 2 if I was lucky. Every time I would bring it up to my Doctor, he would just tell me that all Woman are different and some are regular, some arent and that it was nothing to worry about. I was finally dx'd by a Nurse Practitioner. Thank goodness for her! Does anyone else agree that Nurse Practitioners are more thorough and understanding? It seems like they take more time and really try to figure out whats going on.

I have probably had fewer than 12 periods in the last 8 years. I average about one per year.

I went 2 years without a period... at 35 yrs old I was convinced I was headed into menopause. My periods had just started back a few months before I got pg. What a surprise!!!

I've started my period @ age 13(now 28) and I have not had a full period in over 8 years and I had spotting only when a Dr. decided to take me off bcpills temporarily. It's nice to see this is pretty common with pcos ,like WINA posted I am convinced I'm headed into early menopause. Just wish my dr's thought something was wrong.

I hadn't had mine in at least three years (lost track) when I began seeing my RE. The first thing they did was check to see if I had gone through premature menopause. I hadn't, obviously, it was my PCOS. They gave me meds to begin my cycles to TTC. Then they just started them whenever they felt like it. As soon as we confirmed no pregnancy they'd start one again. Since the baby has been born I have have been getting my period again. They are not regular, but their back. GREAT, now that I don't want them!
